Unless you plan to change addresses between now and election day\, you can start this absentee voting process now. \n\n\n\nTo submit your request in Poweshiek County\, follow the instructions at the Secretary of State’s webpage. Print and fill out the form from the Secretary of State’ site and mail it to Poweshiek County Auditor\, PO Box 57\, Montezuma\, IA 50171 \n\n  \nWe recommend mailing your absentee ballot request by Saturday\, October 17 to ensure that it is received in time for processing at the Auditor’s Office. We recommend that you mail in absentee ballots by Saturday\, October 31 to ensure they are received at the Auditor’s Office in time to be counted on Election Day. \n\n\n\nWe encourage everyone who to vote absentee during this election at the time of COVID-19. DESCRIPTION:US Senate candidate Theresa Greenfield will join our three local legislative candidates for a fundraiser on Zoom on Friday\, August 21 at 6 p.m. This fundraiser also celebrates the women candidates running for office in central Iowa during the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment enacting women’s suffrage.  \nTheresa has been kind enough to give us some of her time to help raise money for state legislative candidates Ivy Schuster (Iowa Senate from Poweshiek County)\, Sarah Smith (Iowa House from Poweshiek County)\, and Ruby Bodeker (Iowa House from Benton County). Ivy\, Sarah\, and Ruby are bringing tremendous energy and commitment to their campaigns and — with your support — can be part of the Democratic team in the Iowa Legislature in 2021! \nRSVP HERE (We will follow up with a link to the Zoom call as soon as we can. We still have limited access to power and the Internet).  \nWe are asking for a donation of $15 — $5 for each of these state legislative candidates — but we hope you will give more if you can.
