DESCRIPTION:Starting July 6\, you can request an absentee ballot for the November 3 general election. \n\n\n\nThe ballots will not be mailed until October 5\, but you can submit your request today and track the status of your ballot at the Iowa Secretary of State’s website. Unless you plan to change addresses between now and election day\, you can start this absentee voting process now. \n\n\n\nTo submit your request in Poweshiek County\, follow the instructions at the Secretary of State’s webpage. Print and fill out the form from the Secretary of State’ site and mail it to Poweshiek County Auditor\, PO Box 57\, Montezuma\, IA 50171 \n\n  \nWe recommend mailing your absentee ballot request by Saturday\, October 17 to ensure that it is received in time for processing at the Auditor’s Office. We recommend that you mail in absentee ballots by Saturday\, October 31 to ensure they are received at the Auditor’s Office in time to be counted on Election Day. \n\n\n\nWe encourage everyone who to vote absentee during this election at the time of COVID-19. It makes things safer for you\, for poll workers\, and for the people who do have to vote in person for some reason. \n\n\n\nMAKE SURE TO VOTE THIS NOVEMBER!!

Here are the three locations of our meetings: \n  \nFirst Presbyterian Church (1025 5th Avenue\, Grinnell)\nAll Democrats from Grinnell & the CGWS Townships \nMontezuma Public Library (500 East Main Street\, Montezuma)\nAll Democrats from Montezuma & the JUPS Townships \nBrooklyn Public Library (306 Jackson Street\, Brooklyn)\nAll Democrats from Brooklyn\, Malcom\, Deep River\, and the BCWMJ townships \nCaucus meetings are where we take care of three important items of party business: \n(a) Electing new representatives for the local party’s Central Committee; \n(b) Accepting proposals for our local party’s platform and \n(c)  Selecting delegates for the annual county party convention \nAnyone who is a member of the Democratic Party is welcome and encouraged to attend. \nIowa Democrats no longer vote for presidential candidates at the caucus meeting. All Iowa Democrats will cast their vote for the 2024  presidential nominee by mail with a “Presidential Preference Card” issued by the Iowa Democratic Party.
